Overview
EVDataBot stores vehicle data locally on your device. The app is intended to give you more visibility into your vehicle without turning your telemetry history into a cloud service.
EVDataBot is designed around on-device storage. We do not operate our own telemetry servers, collect analytics about your driving, or transmit your vehicle history to third parties.
EVDataBot stores vehicle data locally on your device. The app is intended to give you more visibility into your vehicle without turning your telemetry history into a cloud service.
When connected to a compatible OBD adapter, EVDataBot may read diagnostic and telemetry information including battery state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, tire pressure, speed, and odometer values. This information is stored locally on your device.
EVDataBot may also use location data to track routes, calculate mileage, and capture elevation changes for trip history. Route data is stored locally and is not transmitted to our servers.
Bluetooth is used to communicate with your OBD-II adapter. A local device identifier may be stored on-device to support reconnection to known hardware.
EVDataBot uses the Open-Meteo weather API to associate weather conditions with driving efficiency. To do this, the app sends your current GPS coordinates to Open-Meteo when weather data is requested. Please review Open-Meteo’s own terms and privacy practices for details about their handling of requests.
Data shared across the EVDataBot app, its iOS widget, and Live Activity uses Apple’s App Group storage (group identifier group.vcolives.EVDataBot). All shared data remains on your device.
EVDataBot uses Apple’s required-reason API for UserDefaults (storing your preferences and our cached entitlement state). This is declared in our privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) under reason code CA92.1.
EVDataBot offers a single $4.99 one-time unlock for Premium features via Apple’s StoreKit. All payment processing is handled by Apple — no payment information reaches our servers (we have no servers). A 7-day trial is available without payment.
Premium unlocks include CarPlay Charging, Trip, and Vehicle tabs, advanced insights, and the EV Health Report deep sections. Basic functionality (Dashboard, Trip history, Reports, basic Battery CarPlay tab, and the Drive Coach CarPlay tab) is always free.
EVDataBot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this statement from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with a revised date in the app and on this page. For privacy questions, contact support@evdatabot.com.
